I ran out of oil, got more fuel, and now my furnace won’t start. Why?
If you run out of fuel, and have your tank refilled, you should call for a service to perform maintenance cleaning. These systems can get clogged from the debris at the bottom of your tank, after this type of a situation your lines will probably thoroughly need bled, you may need a new nozzle, etc. Obviously, you never want to run out of fuel – but if you do, be prepared to need a maintenance cleaning.

Have you checked the batteries? If your TSTAT has batteries, and the screen is blank, this could be a simple fix that doesn’t warrant a service call. If your TSTAT is blank and is wired directly, the wire may have been damaged, and you should call a technician to check it out.
My furnace or air conditioning system is making a loud noise, what should I do?
Whenever a HVAC system emits an irregular noise, it’s a good idea to have a certified technician on site ASAP to identify the cause. It could be a mechanical failure, a broken bolt, something that fell somewhere it shouldn’t be – any number of things which could lead to more serious issues. The best thing that you can do as the homeowner is RECORD the noise. If you were to request a service call and a member of our team arrives on site and the system isn’t making the noise, there isn’t much they can do to identify what the noise was, having not heard it themselves.
How often should I change my filter?
Changing your filter monthly is a good rule of thumb, though for environments which are prone to accumulating dust and dander faster, or at a slower rate, you may want to change it more or less frequently respectively. For example, if you have a lot of pets or do a lot of woodworking inside you may want to change your filter every few weeks, but if you live alone with no pets, you could get away with going longer before changing it.

Even if everything is working properly- you should have your system checked once annually.
